MajBird, originally Boyar, was formed 2015 in Joensuu, where the band members,Taavi Kiiskinen (singer, songwriter), Petra Immonen (keyboardist, songwriter), Visa Forsblom (guitarist), Joonas Kaartti (the first bassplayer) and Mikko Rautiainen (drummer) first met. Band was formed to a school project but after graduation band kept on making music and playing gigs. Their very first gig was played in Kahvila Laituri Joensuu on May 2015. On 2016 Joonas Kaartti started to record band's music and Anu Kauppi joined to the band as a bass player. For one year (2018-2019) drummer Mikko studied in Leuven, Belgia, as a exchange student, and Jukka Puolakka took his place for that time. Band doesn't have permanent brass players, but Petrus Makkonen, Usva Vahanne, Jaakko Arola, Jesse-Joonas Kemppainen, Tatu Huotarinen, Lauri Ranki, Emil Dobosiewicz ja Katja Koskinen have been heard on gigs and records.
